Opportunity Description

The Web Designer is responsible for building creative concepts and designing graphics for websites and online marketing campaigns, and working within the Shared Services team to create online experiences that delight our customers. The ideal candidate has solid skills in graphic design and an excellent eye for typography.

President / General Manager / Director / Manager / Team Lead

Responsibilities of the Web Designer 

• Designing page templates, browser-ready proofs of concept and storyboards for Web properties and online campaigns
• Collaborate with other designers and the Creative Strategy Manager to ensure designs are consistent with client expectations and overall project goals
• Work closely with the Marketing and Creative Services departments to ensure consistency and integration between online, print and interactive materials
• Effectively balance creative requirements with business and technical requirements
• Work in a multidisciplinary teams  + web sites
• Handle multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Liaise with project stakeholders from various departments
• Continuously manage all web sites to have cutting edge presentations by applying the latest web design tools and design techniques

Required Skills and Experience:

• Post-secondary education in Web, graphic, or visual design  
• Two to Five or more years experience in Web design of large, enterprise scale websites, preferably in a corporate environment 
• Expert level skills in Adobe Creative Suite or other creative suite applications
• Well-rounded understanding of online marketing and Web usability best practices
  Superior attention to detail / Knowledge of American trends desired! 
• Strong communication skills, written, oral and presentation (English)
• Excellent time management, problem solving, teamwork, and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task and adhere to tight deadlines.

Technical’s:
Here are some Requirements to assist interested candidates to determine if they have the skill sets for this opportunity:

• Proficient in hand coding of HTML and Cascading Style Sheets.
• Proficient with table-less coding.
• Experience with JavaScript programming. Experience with AJAX is a plus.
• Experience with Flash and ActionScripting a plus.
• Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions.
• Familiarity with Photoshop or similar graphics applications.
• Ability to follow technical specifications and production processes.
• Some experience working with server side programming (JSP).
• Experience working with content management system is a plus.
• Assets: - Experience with XHTML, CSS, JS, JSP, FLASH, AJAX.
